@puertoricanfl15 Roy?, I disagree, Roy’s thin telecaster tone is hard to like for me, it uglies almost anything, same complaint about some tracks from Clapton’s Derek and Dominoes “Layla and another assorted love songs”.
Mr. Bloomfield was a true innovator. His approach to his idiom, the blues, was his own creation, not the mimicry of the majority. He surpassed everyone while still a child, was rich and famous in his early years and left matierial that even the most profficient guitarist’ cannot emulate.
There’s clearly something about Bloomfield that sets him apart from most blues guitarists, even the blacks, leave alone whites. The melodic phrases he works around a simple scale is unreal. Any guitarist who can come up with [not only the notes, but] the ‘feel’ of the opening bars of ‘Really’ from ‘Super Sessions’ is way beyond a guitar genius in my book.
mike bloomfield and peterr green 2 of the best white blues guitarist from the 60′s,hands down, get turned on 2 these 2 cats.dig it baby aint no music like this anymore.
Despite all the insistence by Kooer, Brooks and others that SS was just a one-take miracle, gems like this emerge.
I would love to know what the discarded takes on “Stop” and “Holy Modal” sounded like…
