This trip from Ashland street on the southside of Chicago to downtown Chicago was video during a time when the “EL” train rider-ship was very low. Many families moved out into the suburbs and most of the businesses also did the same. Most of the vacant lots was there for many years. This ride takes you pass such sites as the Dan Ryan Expressway, Bronzeville of 47th street, Celluar Field (White Sox Park), IIT Institiute, and The Field Museum, just to name a few. Since this video was taken, some of the vacant lots are starting to be filled with new homes. I believe some time in the near future this part of the city will be bursting with activity and people. This trip went to the Thompson Center, then finally City Hall. This is only a snapshot in time of a large urban center like Chicago, which is constantly changing.

Navy Pier, Pizza, Hot Dogs, Cinnamon Buns, little record shops, walking all over, lakeside, Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain, reliving the Blues Brothers driving on Lower Wacker Drive, and visiting Kuma’s Corner, one of the most metal places ever!
