Celebrity look alike anyone? Ron Artest = Jermaine Jackson! Jerry Stackhouse used to be compared to Michael Jordan. For one night in “The House That Mike Built,” he was better than Jordan himself. Stackhouse scored a career-high 57 points — the most ever in the United Center — as the Detroit Pistons trounced the Chicago Bulls, 110-83. “Thats the most points I’ve ever scored,” Stackhouse said, who is the NBA’s second-leading scorer behind former teammate Allen Iverson. “This is the highest level of basketball that you can play and I can say that I did this. It is definitely something I will remember for a long time. And I really think I can do it again.” Jordan did most of his prolific scoring in Chicago Stadium prior to his first retirement and never scored more than 55 points in the United Center, which opened in 1994. In addition to a building record, Stackhouse set a Pistons club mark, surpassing Kelly Tripucka, who had 56 vs. the Bulls on January 29, 1983. Stackhouse made 21-of-36 shots, including four 3-pointers, and 11-of-13 from the line. His effort was the NBA season high and shattered his previous best of 46 was set against the Los Angeles Lakers on March 15. “That’s the most points I’ve ever scored in any game,” he said. “I think maybe I scored 55 or 56 in an AAU game in the summertime when I was 16 or 17, but to be able to do at this level is the best.” Stackhouse scored the first three points of the fourth quarter to run the tally to 50. Michael Jordan and the Bulls darted out of the gates in game three. Jordan scored 27 of his 36 points in the first half. For the game, MJ hit 11 of 23 field goal attempt and all 11 of his free throws. Luc Longley had a nice game, scoring 19. Toni Kucoc added 14, while Scottie Pippen scored 12. The Bulls win game three 108-86, and take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
